To Dry Out The Pages Of A Wet Book, Could I Iron Them?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Books that have moist pages or are partly wet can be dried by making them stand on their driest edges with their pages spread open.  If you are using fans to circulate the air, check that the covers are facing the breeze. Soaking pages should be dried in the air. Do not use an iron, hair dryer or microwave. Place sheets of absorbent material like towels, blotting material between sections of pages. Replace the sheets when they become wet. To augment the drying process, change the location of the blotters every time they are replaced. For books that have coated pages, use waxed paper rather than absorbent sheets. You can also freeze the books to defrost and later dry them.
