Can Adding Salt To Ice Lower The Temp?

    Depends upon how specific you are with the facts of your question. Ice no not at all. Water however, yes. Saline water solutions have a lower freezing point than plain water. Just as an alcohol solution has a lower boiling point. Ice, on the other hand if completely frozen does not interact with salt. Due to this fact they put salt on a snowy road to prevent the water from freezing, applied chemistry.
