Each hero had aspects of the original Superman in them, but in time the real Superman does appear. The Last Son of Krypton stole Superman’s body and put it in the regeneration matrix in the Fortress of Solitude. Over time, Superman drew on his recovering powers to power himself before the matrix broke open and the original Superman emerged. To prove he is the original, Superman mentions To Kill a Mockingbird, Clark Kent’s favourite film.
