If it is in your contract, then yes you do. If not, then they are required to follow that contract to the letter, just as you are. This is something I had to deal with personally, and that is what it came down to. As for the drug comment they made, legalities are in the details, but they are not held responsible for ANY drug activity going on except for what they have a personal vested interest in. It sounds like they were just trying to justify the month-month inspections, and possibly they think you are an un-educated renter. Now you know where you stand, and keep in mind they will not back down from this unless you show them you will not be walked over, and of course you have the contract to back yourself up in this matter.
