In the highlands of Scotland there exists a tourist resort with the name of Aviemore. The committee area of the resorts is Badenoch and Strathspey and the council area is Highland. The town is situated in Cairngorms National Park and among the largest towns in the park. The census of the year 2001 has declared the population of the area to be 2,397.
The resort town is quite popular among the aficionados of winter sports and is famous for skiing and hill-walking. It has the distinction of being the first skiing resorts in Scotland and is also distinct for being close to the freely grazing reindeer herd at Glen More, the only one of its kind in the United Kingdom.
