    Brian Deane scored the first goal in the first day of the Premiership on 15th August 1992. When.He got both goals when Sheffield United beat Manchester United 2-1 but Manchester United still went on to win the Premiership trophy later that season.
    Brian Deane was born in 1968 and first played and scored for Sheffield United in an 8-1 victory against Skegness Town. His first league goal came in the Third Division in the opening game of the season against Reading but his hero status did not really start until September 17, when both he and Tony Agana hit hat-tricks in a 6-1 victory over Chester City.
    Deane won 3 caps for England whilst a Sheffield United player in the early 1990's. He left United for Leeds in a record £2,900,000 deal in 1993.
    He later re-signed for the Blades, but left and moved to Benfica, where he played under Graeme Souness. Deane played 18 times for benfica and scored seven times. He later returned to England to play for Middlesbrough for a fee that was three times more than Befica had paid for him a season earlier.
    In 2001 he joined Leicester City, where he scored the first competitive goal at the new Walkers Stadium, scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory over Watford. He then moved to West Ham United, before returning for a second spell at Leeds.
    After a short spell at Sunderland, he signed for Perth Glory in the Australian A-League. He only stayed for half a season before re-signing for the third time at Sheffield United in December 2005. He has made two substitute appearances before retiring at the end of last season.
