A telescope is an optical instrument that allow us to see the faintest and smallest objects from a distance. There are two types of telescope, Newtonian and Galilean telescopes.
A telescope is composed of two lenses, an objective lens and an eyepiece lens. An objective lens should always be a convex lens. Convex lens is thicker in the middle and the thicker it is the more powerful the telescope would become. An eyepiece can either be a convex or concave lens. If it is a convex lens the image is turned upside - down and it is referred to as the Newtonian Telescope. While if it is a concave lens the image will be displayed normally and it is called the Galilean Telescope. The eyepiece should be small and powerful in order to produce a sharp image. Now put the eyepiece near the eye and then pick a distant object. It could be trees , mountains or anything else. Then put the objective lens right in front of the eyepiece. If the object is blurred slowly move the objective lens forward until you get a clear and sharp image. Now you have created you own telescope.
