What Is B2C On The Internet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

B2C refers to Business to Customer. In this model a company will sell its products or services on the Internet to the end consumer. It will not be dealing with another company. Some of the more striking examples of B2C situations are amazon.com. Anybody can log on to www.amazon.com and order for books. This does not prevent corporations from doing so, but all that an individual has to do is to log on to www.amazon.com , pay by credit card and order for books. In fact Amazon has begun selling a host of other items as well.

Dell Corporation in an effort to eliminate the middle man used the B2C model brilliantly. Anybody can log on to the Dell website and configure his own computer. He can specify everything that he needs in his computer. You pay by credit card; Dell will assemble it for you and ship it to you in a matter of a few days. Initially it was thought that the Internet was something that could be used only by large corporations to but and sell goods. But the amount of B2C business that is conducted is staggering.
