The leaning tower of Pisa, known as “Torre pendente di Pisa” is actually the bell tower for the Cathedral of the city of Pisa. Its construction was started in the year 1173 but soon after the construction began, the tower stated to lean. The foundation was laid very poorly and this resulted in the leaning of the tower. The height of the tower is 55.86 in meters which is equivalent to 183.27 feet from the lower side. From the higher side its height is 186.02 feet or 56.7 meters.
