    The Video Game Mortal Kombat was released on the 21st of August 1992 and the video game Mortal Kombat II in 1993. The movie version of Mortal Kombat was released on the 18th of August 1995. Then there was Mortal Kombat: Annihilation that was released on the 21st of November 1997 and Mortal Kombat: Conquest in 1998. The movie version of Mortal Kombat starred Christopher Lambert playing the part of Lord Rayden who tries to help humanity with its struggle and quest to win Mortal Kombat. Liu Kang the main character of Mortal Kombat was played by Robin Shou. The villain was Shang Tsung played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and the other main characters in the series were Sonya Blade and Princess Kitana played by Bridgette Wilson and Talisa Soto respectively.
