There are lots of traditional English foods although many are influenced by our colonial past. Try steak and kidney pudding, shepherds pie, roasted goose with yorkshire puddings and for the sweet toothed rhubarb crumble, bakewell tart, syllabub, Eton mess and trifle.

None of the above dishes mentioned by 'Guest' were 'influenced by our colonial past'
Neither is cottage pie,Beef wellington, Toad In The Hole,Bubble and Squeak, Lancashire Hotpot,
    Kippers,Fisherman's Pie,Jugged Hare,Warwickshire Pheasant Casserole,Yorkshire Pudding,Steak and Ale Pie,Devilled ribs,Jellied Eels with mash and liquor.
Ignorance and prejudice against English people seems to abound on 'Blurtit' so I shall not be here again as I prefer friendlier forums.

What on earth are you talking about...fish and chips were introduced to the U.K. by Jewish immigrants...in about 1860 and are about as British as curry...which we also love...
