Despite its relatively small size, Bratislava has a good selection of hostels and inexpensive hotels for travellers on a tight budget. Perhaps the best known, no-frills accommodation is the Downtown Backpackers Hostel. Like most hostels in the West, this one offers beds in co-ed dorms and the cost of a bed ranges from between €10 and €12.
Another possibility is Hotel Star, one of the newest hostels in Bratislava. Although this is a little further from the city centre, it is quite close to M.R. Stefanik Airport. According to their website, however, they offer private, single rooms for €11, which is a real bargain and can compensate for having to commute to the city centre.
If you are travelling during the summer months, you can also stay in the student dorms of the Slovak University of Technology. Their nighty rates start at €9.75 for shared accommodation.
If you are willing to pay a little more, you can stay in a private room at the two-star Hotel Turist for approximately €42, or the three-star Hotel Color for €48.
