It does not indicate any thing bad because black blood is old blood in the blood vessels of uterus. It usually occurs when periods are few days late. Black blood can also occur when periods are on time. You should not be concerned about color of the blood during menstruation. Periods should be after normal interval that is 26-32 days and for normal duration that is 2-7 days regardless of color of blood.
