Right now they don't have any plans to issue stimulus checks for 2009. Just a lot of tax credits

As Soobad said, there are tax credits this year instead of stimulus checks.
But if you were not eligible last year, you may be able to get some money this year. There are two main circumstances which will trigger that:
You did not get a stimulus payment, or
Your payment was less than $600 ($1200 if married filing jointly for 2007), plus $300 for each qualifying child for 2008.
