Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

New Zealand is a country that has been a homeland of different tribes. These tribes united to form this country. The flag of New Zealand depicts its tribal history as well as its era of colonization, as it was held by Great Britain.

The New Zealand Flag has the colors red, Royal Blue and White. It has a union jack on the top left corner, which is red and white in color. Whereas the background is royal blue. There are four stars scattered over the remaining right side only.

The colors red and white over the union jack depict the era of colonization by the Britishers. The Blue Background depicts the sky. Whereas the four stars on the right side are an adoption of four of the five starts in Southern Cross constellation.

The four stars were actually used on the Maori flag which was adopted by the United Tribes of New Zealand. It depicted St. George's Cross over a blue sky.
