What Is A Bus Network?

Answer Question

A bus network is a set of computer connected together design in which a set of clients are communicate via a shared communications pathway, called a bus. There are some common example of the bus architecture, including one in the motherboard of most computers, and those in anyone versions of Ethernet networks.

Bus networks are the easiest way to communicate  more then one clients, but often have drawbacks when two clients want to communicate at the same time on the same bus.

A real bus network is passive – the clients on the bus simply wait for a signal; they are not responsible for sending the signal with data. However, many online architectures can also be elaborate as a "bus", as they give the same logical facilities as a passive bus; for example, switched Ethernet can till now be known as a logical bus network, if not a physical one.At last, the hardware may be give away completely in the matter of a software bus.

With the fame of switched Ethernet on passive Ethernet, passive bus networks are not vey popular in wired networks. However, almost all commonly used wireless networks can be seen as examples of passive bus networks, with radio system functionality as the common passive medium.

Bus network is one of the topology from many network topologies, by topology we mean that ,a network making methods via which many computers connected to one another and then work together as a group.

So about the bus network, it is a network in which many computers are connected to a single line or we can say that the one cable either UTP or any other is shared among many computers, moreover these computers are connected to the cable via the T-shape connectors and at the end of the cable at both ends there is terminator attached which stop the chances of data "to and fro " motion.

There are some disadvantages in the bus network, that the chances of data collision is much more but there are some ways like bus master or carrier sense multiple access which avoid the chances of collision.

It's troubleshooting is also difficult .If the cable have some problem then the entire network become damage and will be stopped.

At the long distances maintenance cost would be a bigger problem.

Along with the disadvantages it also have some advantages like it is very handy and simple to implement ,there is not needed that much cables then any other network topology like star. Also it is very cheap and affordable for general users and also very suitable for the small area.
