In What Year Did Eric Cantona Join Manchester United?

Sir Alex Ferguson paid only one and a half million pounds to secure the services of the Frenchmen from their Yorkshire rivals, Leeds United, in the summer of nineteen ninety two.  

Since the move, the then manager of Leeds United has been castigated by Leeds fans and the media for such an appaling footballing decision.  His last game for the Elland Road club came in the Charity sheild at the start of the nineteen ninety two season, in which Leeds the reigning and final fisrt division champions, played FA cup winners Liverpool.  

Cantona was exceptional and he went on to score a hat trick in the Yorkshire sides four three victory.  

Controvesy digged Cantona's time at  United and although his talent and love of the big stage could never be questioned, he did find himself incurring the wrath of the FA and also the police for various incidents including kung fu kicking a spectator at selhurst park in a premier league match against Crystal palce in nineteen ninety five.
