What Does The Colour Dun Look Like For A Horse?
Answers
The colour dun, when used to refer to the colour of a horse, is defined as a coat which is sandy yellow to reddish-brown in colour. The legs of dun horses are usually darker than the rest of their bodies. They sometimes have faint black and white stripes on their legs, which represent the black and white stripes of a zebra.
Dun horses have a dorsal stripe. A dorsal stripe is defined as a dark stripe which runs down the middle of the back of a dun horse. The dorsal stripe continues to extend down to the dock and tail of the dun horse and it also goes through the mane of the dun horse.
Many houses which are dun in coloured also have masking on their faces. This masking makes the colour of the nose of the dun horse, and also sometimes the rest of the face of the dun horse, darker than the body of the dun horse.
