What Is A 1950 D Nickel Worth?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The worth of the d-nickel you have is hard to decide as it is considered as a collector's item and nothing in the world can tell you the accurate rate of the d-nickel you have. But if we go by the past experience, we can certainly say that it is more than ₤49 because a recent bid on e-bay suggested me that the worth of a 1962 d-nickel stands at ₤49 and as yours is older than this one, you are bound to get a higher price than this one.

There are some other conditions also that guide the price of a product and the condition of it is most important. If your d-nickel is good condition, you will be able to fetch a good price and I have no doubt about that.

Well, the 1950-D Jefferson nickel is the rarest date with the lowest mintage of the series. At mint they knew it would be made in small numbers, so most were set aside for collectors and remain uncirculated.

The price obviously depends on the condition of your nickel. Right now, as of January 2009, a 1950-D uncirculated nickel graded at MS-65 (condition rating), is selling for around $15.00-$16.00 USD.
