How Do I Make A Shadow Box?

Answer Question

This is easy once you get the hang of it. First, go to a hobby and craft store and have someone help you gather the materials you will need to make your shadow box. You'll need to select the glass case first; when you choose the case, keep in mind how many objects you want to place into the shadow box and make sure you're buying the right size. Then you can select the mounting board; the hobby or craft shop can either provide you with the correct size to match the size of your glass case, or they will cut the board specially for you. Next, consider what kinds of objects you want to place in your shadow box; you may need a strong glue adhesive to secure items in place, or you may need hooks to hang the top of the object and you can then glue the bottom part of the object to the mounting board. Once you get your materials home, lay all your objects out on the mounting board, and make small marks to remind yourself of where to mount the objects. Use the glue and/or hooks to finish your box.

A shadow box refers to a very simple but a very dramatic case for display that use for the treasured objects or are used for a collection of souvenirs. To prepare a shadow box you need a couple of items. You require a 8 / 7 / ¼ inch of pine for backs of 6 ½ / 4/, ½ / ½ inch pine for top and bottom; 2 pieces of 8 / 4 ½ by ½ inch pine for sides; card stock, wood glue, double sided tape, silk piece, paintbrush, whit clear drafting glue, bone folder, woven linen tape, and picture frame hooks.

Now, lay the boxes on a flat surface and spread the glue. Then attach the two sides from the top and the bottom. Paint the outer surface of the box. Cut apiece of the stock of the size of the inner back panel. Drop the panel into the box check the size. Similarly perform the activity with the outer stock. Then glue the silk piece. Then apply the white clear drying craft glue on the front and side edges of the box. Then mount the wall with the help of picture frame hooks.
