William Edmund Butter worth III Griffin was born on the 10th November 1929. He has written a number of books mostly dealing with the daring topics related to military and detective fiction. He has written around thirty novels each consisting around five series which were published using the same name. He has also a number of books using pseudonyms. Some of the pseudonyms which he commonly used were W.E.B. Griffin, W.E. Butter worth, Edmund O. School field, Webb Beech, Eden Hughes, Alex Baldwin, James McM. Douglas, Patrick J. Williams and Walker E. Blake.
Before involving himself in writing fictions, he was working for the army. He started working for the army in 1946. He has received a number of achievements in this field. He has received awards like Army of Occupation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and many more while he was serving for army.
