Six years later she became pregnant again and her RA seemingly vanished!... That was until our baby was born.. Then her symptoms CAME BACK like a Freight Train.. Far worse symptoms, faster progression and she didn't respond to treatment at all. She was a vibrant healthy woman, and today she needs assistance with virtually every aspect of daily life as she is unable to stand up, walk, lift a coffee cup, cut up her own food, brush her hair, get dressed and the list goes on and on. I implore you to get specialized medical advice before you get pregnant. I know how strong the urge is to have your own baby, to hold it, love it, laugh and cry with it.. I have been fortunate enough to have two great children whom I love with all my heart.. Had I known the terrible price my wife was to pay for having a child, I would have had a vasectomy and we would have adopted. There are treatments available now that were not an option for us..
