Why Is My Mother Kitten Not Producing Milk?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Some mothers, in all the mamal family are unable to produce milk. Think it has something to do with hormones.  You shoulc check with your vet or pet shop to bottle feed. Kittens cannot tolerate cows milk but if diluted and with a little corn syrup should be okay. There are bottles or eye droppers.  I have something sad to tell you, some mothers, due to not being able to care for their young will eat them.  I know this sounds awful, but often happens not only cats but many other creatures, so you may want to seperate them because of this.  Make sure they are warm, wrapped in a blanket, and a clock to imitate the sound of a heartbeat.  Take care, and take care of those kittens.  Best of luck to you
