Soak them in warm water or acetone. When they're in the warm water, don't keep taking them out to look at them, as the air hardens the fake nail after it has been kept warm and soft. Rub them while they're in the warm water or acetone.

There is a nail polish remover just for acrylic nails. It would be the safest and less damaging way. It is sold at any drug store.
