Can A Capuchin Monkey Be An Ideal First Pet?

A baby capuchin is really tiny and I am wonder how big it can grow when it becomes an adult? Also, what kind of special care does it need? Thanks.

I don't mean to put my beliefs on you, and,of course, you have your own opinion to be respected, but I am thoroughly against keeping monkeys (and other wild animals) as pets. First off,as the monkey grows into adulthood,it's instincts develop, and MANY people have been painfully bitten by their capuchin because of this. Some even go so far as to inhumanely file their teeth down, just to prevent injury to themselves, when they shouldn't have a wild animal to begin with.Again,I mean no disrespect to you,I simply wanted to share this information with you before you made a decision.

I've done research because i too want a capuchin monkey and although it take alot of devotion n dedication they are great and just because a few people tell you that capuchin monkeys are aggressive thats true but even cats and dogs jump at its owner every now and then its all about how you treat and teach them but i suggest you get them as a baby to teach them to your life style...so yea good luck =]

♥ No. Sorry Hun' but........ I wanted a Capuchin Monkey as a pet and well........... It didn't turn out very good. I lost interest in her one day and well.... You will get tired to. She was making a lot of noise while I was watching the T.V and I put her in her cage, then I heard a loud crash. She has been rocking the cage and it fell into the bookshelf and has landed on her and she was gone.... :'~( I picked her up and rushed her to the vets... But........ It was to late she was gone. So I will say this. If you are thinking of getting a Capuchin Monkey. Honey, it's a HUGE responsibility. I couldn't bring myself to get another one. But now I have my daughter she is 1 month old and she is all I care about now, her name is Miley. Please don't get a Capuchin Monkey it''s just not right. Maybe get a hamster for a first pet they are much easier to look after and they only live for a maximum of about 4-5 years. So please DON'T get a Capuchin Monkey. X Thank~you for your time. Lots Of Love, Best Wishes, Lady Zoe ♥
