Grants are a very useful and beneficial way of financing your college education since, unlike loans; they do not have to be repaid. Grants are available from a number of sources depending on the student's requirements, grades, ethnic background, interests etc. The different sorts of grants available in the United States include the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant, Robert C grants, National Science Scholars Program, Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership etc. Each of these grants has its own criteria and conditions that have to be met for students to be eligible.
The most notable is the Federal Pell Grant which requires students be US citizens; they must possess a GDE or a high school diploma, it must be the student's first ever undergraduate degree, only one is awarded per year, male students must have opted for the selective service etc.
