Suz is right, you never forget your first love.  Even if he has a place in his heart for the girl before, the biggest place is reserved for you.  Don't let this concern you, enjoy your relationship with him.

It is hard t forget someone you've loved before. And if he says that you are the only girl in his heart, just trust him. The girl might still be in his heart (partially), but your love for him is incomparable with the love he felt with the other girl. Put it this way you never forget you first love no matter how many people you love. And you can love someone else as well. He probably loved her then but he has moved on and now loving you. Hope this helps you

I believe there will always be a place in your heart for your first love. There will be times where you will just think of them out of the blue for no reason no matter the reason for the ending of the relationship. I have been happily married to a great man for almost 16yrs and even though I know my first love wouldn't have been as good a husband or father as my husband I still have thoughts of him for some reason.I think you just just experience something with your first love that you never experience again  no matter how much you love another person afterwards.
