Previously a wedding anniversary was celebrated just amongst the couples themselves, however this trend has changed in the past decade and now people gather their friends and families to celebrate their special day. In fact many children arrange a wedding anniversary party for their parents too.

It is very important to realize before celebrating your parent's anniversary that it is not good to give them a surprise because they probably might not want to share this day with others and want to do some thing on their own. So always let them know before making any arrangements

It is good to send out party invitations at least a month before the wedding anniversary party. Some people do not like to accept gifts on their wedding anniversary because they just want to gather their loved ones and enjoy the day. So it would be a good idea to give them a gift after a party so that they do not feel embarrassed.

Do not ask people for any monetary gifts as it does not look nice. It would be good not to open gifts in front of guests during the party, if you have been given gifts that is. People who could not get expensive items can get really embarrassed in front of other guests.

A speech should be given by the children of the married couple as it shows them their love and respect. It is also important to thank the people who helped in getting the party arranged.
