What Were The Main Fashions In The Early 80's?

The eighties was a time all of its' own.  New music coupled with a wide variety of some strange and interesting clothing trends.  The early eighties welcomed an assortment of round, square and even zigzagged bangles.  These bangles were available in many colours and all sizes. The early eighties also introduced the fingerless, net glove.  These gloves, made from lace or fishnet patterns, made artistic work of hands and wrists, sometimes even extending to above the elbow.  The 'Lawman Jeans' and 'James Jeans' of the early eighties cannot be forgotten.  These unisex jeans, with the very wide leg but extremely tapered ankle, were all the rage at the time.  After the release of the cult classic teen film 'Fast Time at Ridgemont High', the 'Vans' checker board shoes also became extremely popular. The clip-clop of clogs could also be heard around cities and towns from the early eights through to the mid-eighties.
