My Dog Has Red Round Sores Some With Flaky Scabs, What Could It Be?

Sounds to me like either mange or ring worm. You won't be able to get rid of either one without the help of a vet. And you do need to take the dog in because if it is either of these conditions and you let it go untreated it can become serious and a hazard to your dogs health.

I just took my dog to the vet for a similar condition. The vet is sending her blood culture to the lab for testing. It could be many things including internal infection, thyroid condition, psoriasis, skin cancer. I recommend taking your dog for blood work.
