In genetic engineering you run the risk of mutations as you take a piece form one DNA and insert it into the DNA of another one and you are not sure what the possible effect will be. If you talk about genetically engineered seeds planted by farmers, the as the seeds are exactly identical in their structure then they are very prone to diseases. If there is a disease none of the plants will be able to survive. They can produce allergic reactions and these engineered organisms are resistant to anti biotic drugs. If it is carried out I other living organisms then it can result in ‘bubble boy diseases’ which stop the immune system to function properly and increases vulnerability. There are also ethical issues that you are genetically engineering living things and then sacrifice them to use them for you.
