Who Was The Creator Of Judge Dredd?

    judge, Joe Dredd is one of the most popular and oldest running comic strips in the UK; the character was created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra.

    The comic strip first appeared in the science fiction comic magazine 2000 AD in February 1977; the concept was given impetus by the magazine's editor Pat Mills who also collaborated with Wagner who was the writer of the strip and Ezquerra who was the artist in developing the character in the initial stages.

    The main character is Judge Dredd who is empowered by the Justice Department of Mega-City One a vast city state based in the future and comprising the Eastern part of the United States to tackle crime on the streets and pass judgment on criminals; Dredd is a cop and judge who can sentence criminals on the scene of the crime and can even execute them if the situation demands so. A film, 'Judge Dredd' based on the character was made in 1995.
