Dog Has Been Having Seizures, What Is Wrong With My Pet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When a dog starts having seizures, do not panic. Stay calm and consult a vet as soon as possible. The reasons behind seizures can be epilepsy, calcium deficiencies, eating poisonous plants or chemicals, and some injury to head. It can be an inherited problem. Dogs from pure breed rarely face this problem.

Actually, pure bred dogs have more problems with seizures than mixed breed dogs. More problems with everything. This stems from inbreeding. Which is what so many careless breeders do.

My dog began to have seizures and was misdiagnosed, it turned out to be the early stages of a brain tumor...he was fine one day and the next, acted hurt and staggered and walked in circles. I took him to a ER Vet(not his usual vet). She looked at him asked me about any changes in behavior(yes) and told me brain lesions. I took him home and he curled up in my arms and we took a nap. awoke 2-3 hours later and he was taking his last breath!!!!!!!!! I was dumbfounded.....
