Peripheral arterial disease is circulatory disorder which is caused by the narrowing of large arteries of the peripheries due to atherosclerosis, inflammatory processes causing stenosis or thrombus formation. During peripheral artery disease, blood supply to limbs especially legs is reduced which causes pain and cramping while walking. This disease can be due to smoking, diabetes, high cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure. Peripheral Angioplasty and change of lifestyle can treat peripheral arterial disease.
