Answer Question

The electoral roll basically is a list of all the people registered to vote in a particular district. If your name is not there on the electoral roll, you will have to visit the local election office, and submit an application with them, asking them to enroll your name in the electoral roll.

With the application you will have to submit the necessary documents like residence proof, birth certificate, etc for verification purposes. Once the verification is over with and everything is confirmed, your name shall be inducted onto the electoral roll.

Electoral registers are put into practice in number of democracies like the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, etc. In the United Kingdom, all British, Republic of Ireland, Commonwealth and European Citizens have the right to vote. A register is made for every polling region, and is preserved by the electoral registration office.
