I Have A Step-son Who Has Been Diagnosed With ADHD But I Believe He Has Mild Autistic Tendencies (no Eye Contact, Poor Socialization Skills, Awkward Hand Positions When Eating, Etc). Could This Possibly Be Mild Autism As Well?

Please advise - I believe he's been misdiagnosed.

It falls on the same spectrum. My son suffers ADHD and has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS in the past. Now they are saying that he is better off in a self contained classroom because it would be more therapeutic. He has also been labeled ED, emotionally disturbed. I have been a very loving parent and do not fit the protocol of someone who was emotionally distant from her son. I don't know. I will tell you this. We have seen over five professionals and each one has something different to say. Hopefully, one day, the science will be more defined. It seems that seeing someone and getting a diagnosis does not guarantee it is correct or worth following and it is hard to get insurance companies to pay for behavior modification therapies, which I believe are most beneficial. If anyone has info. On behavior modification, it would be greatly appreciated.
