Which Ruler Sponsored Shakespeare's Theater Group?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When Shakespeare came to London, in about 1588?, the sponsor of the acting group he joined was Lord Hunsdon, The Lord Chamberlain, so Shakespeare joined The Lord Chamberlain's Men. After Hunsdon died, the sponsor became Queen Elizabeth I, so, the acting group became, The Queen's Men. When she died, in 1603, King James I took on the patronage, and Shakespeare's people became The King's Men.
