Scientists get a lot of information from fossils of an animals. They can know what was the animal and which kingdom it belonged to. Based on that they can know its specific features like whether it had wings?, was it poisonous?, etc. They can also know the age of the specie and its approximate time of extinction. The fossil also shows the causes of extinction of a specific creature.
