What Can You Tell Me About The Canadian Eskimo Dog?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

As its name suggests, the Canadian Eskimo dog originated from Canada. It remains a mystery about the date this particular breed became established, but we know that it was first used for backpacking, sled pulling and sled racing. Nowadays, it is still used for sled pulling and racing and is a working dog.

It is also known as an American Husky, Esquimaux or just Eskimo dog. Its weight ranges from 27-48 kg (60-105 lb) and its height normally comes in between 51-69cm (20-27 in). Its average life span varies from 12-13 years of age.

The Canadian Eskimo Dog tends to be 'full of beans' and does everything from eating to arguing with abundant energy. They need strict and constant training to teach them to respect humans and acknowledge them as figures of authority. This breed has strong pack instincts and will often fight for food or seniority over other dogs.
