Do I Really Need E-commerce To Make My Web Site Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

As more and more people become regular online shoppers, the ability to accept credit card payments online has become a fundamental building block of virtually every business. Without a doubt, online credit card payment is now unquestionably the difference between getting an order and losing it. For while the internet opens up a potential global marketplace of customers, it also brings with it a global marketplace of rival companies.

If users don't like what they see, there's little hesitation to move onto the next site in their list of search results. And one thing that's sure to drive your traffic elsewhere is an apology about not accepting credit or debit cards.

From the user's point of view, a site that only accepts cheques is somehow inferior, slow and not committed enough to their web presence. Doubts are quickly sown; if a site isn't geared up enough to take credit cards, what is the shipping and delivery going to be like?
