Is It Safe To Build A Planter Box For Spice Plants Out Of Treated Pine?

I am building a back yard vegetable garden.

    That would all depends on what the pine has been treated with, whilst some treatment are innocuous, some can be lethal.  To be absolutely sure it may be best to line the planters with black plastic.  Place small stones in the bottom and then make holes in the plastic to facilitate good drainage.

    If you use enough stones on the bottom of the planter box and do not overwater, then , no need to put holes in the plastic. The rocks will provide the drainage.
    The water would rot the wood after a period of time.

      Treated wood is 100% toxic, and a horrible idea for planting.  That is why they ask you to where gloves when picking up treated wood.
