There were two phases of the Olympic games. The first phase was in the times of Ancient Olympia Games, these were held in Olympia Greece. The second phase in these games was the Modern Olympic movement which started from Athens, Greece.
Thus, I would have to say that the Olympic games were first held at Olympia, Greece. A myth regarding this event is that Heracles and his father Zeus created this game.
