Many women still use them. It is a healthier way other than a tampon. It was found that using a tampon can cause some women's p.m.s. to become worse, and they have been know to become very violent as a result. You have to use something to catch the flow, obviously, or you would be an ugly and repulsive mess if you didn't. Hope this helped some.
