What Is A Book Chair?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A book chair is a small device, modelled on a sea-side deck chair, which one can use to seat books upon when you are reading them.  The book chair holds the book in place, there is a small ledge for the book to sit on (quite beefy dictionaries sit comfortably open on my book chair) and there are two small paddles that keep the pages in place, this is particularly useful if one is trying to speed read, which requires being able to scan the pages at a certain distance, and it is easier without holding the book.

The book chair has the frame like a deck chair and a canvas back, which is nice and strong for the book to sit on.  A book chair can be particularly useful for reading aloud from, and functions as a document holder, but unlike a document holder, it has a thick base allowing something the size of a cookery book to be placed on it and read from whilst one cooks, bakes or whatever else one does in a kitchen!
