Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle was born on 22 November 1890 and died on 9 November 1970. He was a French military leader as well as a well known statesman. In France he is commonly known as Général de Gaulle. He is known for his rich military and political career.

He went on to have an active military and political career becoming the eighteenth President of the French Republic as well as the one hundred and fourty-ninth Prime Minister of France.
