Where Can I Find The Definition Of Crucible?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

If you have a dictionary at home, finding the definition of the word is the matter of a minute. You just need to go for the alphabet 'C' and then proceed according to the rules of a dictionary. All big dictionaries provide you with not only the definition but also the origin of the word and also in what context you can use the word.

If you do not possess a big dictionary at home and want to know all about the word, just open the website of a search engine. The method you should follow is to write the term 'define: crucible' in the space provided by the website. When you press the enter button on your keyboard you will find that the definition is right there facing you and you take it in your mind.

Broadly the word is being used to describe a vessel that is made of the kind material that can not melt easily. The vessel is being used in chemical reactions that are being done at very high temperature.

It can also be the lowest level of an iron furnace, where the melted stuff collects:

I plugged [crucible definition] into the search bubble on my browser and saved the only definition link that differed from the off-the-top-of-my-head "high-temperature cup-shaped container for melting things".
