Is A Blood Pressure Reading Of 92/60 Good?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    Yes, it is good!

According to the National Institutes of Health's Medline Plus website:

        * 120/80 or lower is normal blood pressure
        * 140/90 or higher is high blood pressure
        * 120 and 139 for the top number, or between 80 and 89 for the bottom number is pre-hypertension

    They also say:

"If your blood pressure reading is 90/60 or lower, you have low blood pressure.

Some people have low blood pressure all the time. They have no symptoms and their low readings are normal for them...low blood pressure is a problem only if it causes dizziness, fainting or in extreme cases, shock."

Unless you typically have higher pressure and have recently experienced a significant drop, I'd say you're healthy. And I speak from experience -- you and I actually have exactly the same blood pressure! I am in perfect health...I exercise daily and eat an extremely balanced, healthy, low-meat/no beef/high-fiber diet with plenty of fruits and veggies and barely any junk and processed foods. I also avoid high fructose corn syrup whenever possible. My BMI is 19.

Glad to know there are other people out there who aren't a part of America's dismal health statistics. Congrats, and keep doing what you are doing!
