    Wombles is a series of children's novel which was published in the year 1968 by the British author Elisabeth Baresford. The name Wombles refer to fictional characters who help in keeping the environment clean. The cover song of the wombles was written and produced by Mike Batt. He did not ruin his professional career. In fact he performed and produced a number of highly successful novelty singles as the band "The Wombles." The members of the band were:
    Vocals / sax: Orinoco
    Lead guitar: Wellington
    Bass guitar: Madame Cholet
    Violin: Great Uncle Bulgaria
    Drums: Bungo
