I will provide you with some information and leave the debate to you. A debate takes two or more people and I am just here to answer questions. Based on your statement I surmise you need to have some facts as to whether the US government could have been a more effective government from the beginning. This of course is a debatable issue.

First, we have to look at the Constitution of United States since that is the key document, upon which our government was founded. It states in the preamble, "We the people of the United State, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, ...promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity."

This is our promise as a country and yet when this was written we were a country denying these very rights to slaves. How could our government succeed as a just government when it was established with a document containing lies? On paper our government was to provide for all the people, but our ancestors were not treating slaves as people. Slaves were being bought and sold, as if they were imports and exports.

Could our government have been more effective from the beginning, yes of course, the men who ran the government could have abolished slavery in order to prevent our Constitution from becoming a document of untruth. Our country has never been the country the constitution states we are. Over the years other living lies have entered in our government. Today many people lack trust in anyone who represents government.

The Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. It goes on to state these rights are "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. ... " It also states in reference to England's treatment of the colonies, "That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it and institute a new government... But, from the beginning our government did not treat the slaves as this document states a government should treat its people. In reality we treated the slaves in the same manner some of our English rulers treated our ancestors.

How could a government established on a lie succeed? To say all men are created equal and then ignore the fact; slaves were bought and sold, as if, they were one of the products to be imported and exported. Our government could have been more effective from the beginning and in the present, if slavery had been immediately abolished. This would have prevented our Constitution from containing a living lie. This is the main matter, which should have been changed in the beginning of our government. From this black stain on the soul of America we have acquired many other black stains over the years. A country established on a living lie is a country at risk for failure in one way or another.
