Who Do Snow-White And Rose-Red Marry?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Unlike the Brothers Grimm's famous heroine, this Snow-White has a twin sister. Both are equally beautiful and virtuous, and a guardian angel watches over them. One winter's night a big bear comes to their mother's house; they let it in , and the animal shelters in their home all winter. They all grow very fond of the bear, but in the spring he disappears "to go and look after his treasures.". One day the girls are walking in the wood when they find a dwarf, struggling to free his beard which has stuck in a crack in a tree-stump. Despite his furious insults, they free him by cutting off his beard, which makes him even angrier. They rescue him from two other dangers, getting no thanks. One day they catch him counting a hoard of precious stones; while he is shouting at them, the bear appears, kills the dwarf and immediately turns into a handsome prince. He explains that the precious stones are in fact his own; the dwarf stole his treasure and turned him into a bear. He has freed himself by finding the dwarf and killing him. Snow-White marries the prince and Rose-Red his brother.
